This is a unit study history class about Ancient Egypt from 3100 BCE-1070 BCE. Students will learn about the 3 distinct time periods (Old Kingdom, Middle Kingdom, and New Kingdom) and do 6 different art projects and 6 different science activities. The first 2 classes will focus on Old Kingdom Egypt. Students will embalm and mummify an apple in class one and track its progress through the six weeks. They’ll also experiment stacking pyramids, making relief sculptures, hearing ancient myths, learning about natural irrigation, mapping out their geography skills, and more.
