Learn about bygone animals, from the giant mammals that once roamed the earth, to Tasmanian Tigers, those more recently lost to extinction, and even some dinosaurs thrown in!

Students will also learn about these animals in culture and how mythological animals can intersect with tales of long-gone animals, though the main focus will be on animals that definitely existed.

Projects include learning about mold, cast, and trace fossils, and doing an end-session project on an extinct animal of the student’s choosing.
