10am Classroom Birds! A Project-Based Learning Class with Kristen

In this Project Based Learning class, students will explore the amazing world of birds through a hands-on, project-based learning approach. Together, we will investigate questions like: What do birds look like? Where do birds live? What do birds eat? and How do birds grow and change during their life cycle?
Students will observe, create, research, and work together to build their understanding of birds and nature. They will also learn how to share their knowledge and teach others.
10am Gym Spring Paper Crafts with Britney
Ages: 5-10

Students will create small paper projects based on spring themes.

Subject: Reading & Writing
This phonics supportive class helps 5-7 year olds build confidence in reading and writing by learning the fundamentals. Students practice phonics, sight words, and reading comprehension using engaging, age-appropriate exercises. The class encourages imagination, listening skills, and a love of language in a playful, nurturing environment perfect for early learners.

12pm Gym Itty Bitty Animals with Amelia
Ages: 4-7
Price: $40
2 students maximum
Subject: Science
Animal learning for our youngest Hub members! In this class the Itty Bittys will learn the fundamentals of taxonomy and simple animal science through games and crafts. Includes 30 minutes of lesson activity and 20 minutes of freeplay in the gym, reserved just for the smallest of the Hub’s students.

1:30pm Classroom Project Code: Create Music with Scratch with Grace
Ages: 7-12
Price: $35
10 students maximum
Subject: Math and Science
Learn the five elements of music theory while exploring computer science with scratch block coding. Students will experiment with sounds from more than a dozen musical instruments. They will learn the scales, chords, and simple songs. We also will be using the Makey Makeys to create a Banana Piano which students can play in real time.
Requirements for this class:
-Students must be able to independently read. We’ll be working with Scratch - Imagine, Program, Share and each student will have their own laptop to navigate.
-Students must be able to independently use a computer mouse or laptop touch pad to drag and drop, right click, left click, and double click. We will not be using touchscreens or tablets in this class.

We are going to take a story and create art! This class is a full hands-on, sensory experience in all things art and mess.

In this class, students will explore the big question: How do tiny seeds grow into large plants? Using a hands-on, project-based learning approach, students will plant, observe, and discover what plants need to grow, how seeds travel, and the life cycle of plants.
2:30pm Younger Choir with Billie Jo
Ages: 4-9
Price: $40
Subject: Music
This choir class, designed for students ages 4-9 years old, provides an introduction to vocal music performance. The focus will be on developing healthy vocal techniques, musical literacy, and ensemble performance skills. This class will complete and perform at least 2 songs.
